Method
Follow each step in order. Ingredient names are highlighted as you go.

Cook the onion in a dry pan over medium heat until it begins to soften.

Add the garlic and stir until fragrant, then add the ground beef and cook until browned, crumbly, and at least 71°C (160°F).

Stir in the carrot and green peas and cook until the vegetables are just tender.

Season the filling with the xawaash spice mix, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and black pepper, then let it cool completely.

Keep the lumpia wrappers covered so it does not dry out, and place the water in a small bowl for sealing.

Fill each lumpia wrapper with a little of the cooled filling, fold into a tight triangle, and seal the edge with a dab of water.

Heat the vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F) in a deep pan and fry the pastries in batches until crisp and golden.

Drain briefly and serve hot.
