Method

Mix the whole wheat flour and salt in a bowl.

Add the water and knead until you have a smooth, soft dough. Cover and let it rest.

Divide the dough into small balls and roll each one into a thin round.

Heat a dry griddle or pan to about 220°C (428°F).

Cook each flatbread until light brown spots appear, then turn and cook the second side.

Cook briefly over direct flame or on the hot griddle until the roti puffs in places.
