Soup
- 450gLamb Shoulder (cut into small pieces)
- 25mlSunflower Oil
- 180gOnion (finely chopped)
- 150gCarrot (cut into small pieces)
- 220gTomato (chopped)
- 140gWhite Rice (rinsed)
- 1.6lWater
- 3gCumin Seeds
- 2gBlack Pepper (coarsely ground)
- 9gSalt

Method
Follow each step in order. Ingredient names are highlighted as you go.

Heat the sunflower oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft.

Add the lamb shoulder and cook until it loses its raw color, then stir in the carrot.

Add the tomato, cumin seeds, black pepper, and salt, and cook until the tomatoes begin to break down.

Pour in the water, bring to a simmer, and cook until the lamb is tender.

Stir in the white rice and continue cooking until the rice is soft and the soup has thickened slightly.

Ladle the soup into bowls and finish each bowl with plain yogurt.
