    Place the eggs in a saucepan, cover with the water, and bring to a boil. Cover, remove from the heat, and stand for 10 minutes.

    Transfer the eggs to cold water, then peel when cool enough to handle.

    Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, until soft.

    Stir in the garlic and red chili and cook for 30 seconds. Add the tomato, distilled white vinegar, white sugar, and salt.
