Method

Combine the ground beef, ground pork, egg, breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper.

Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.

Heat the extra virgin olive oil and brown the meatballs on all sides, then transfer them to a plate.

Cook the onion until soft, add the garlic, and stir briefly.

Add the tomato sauce, red dry wine, water, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper and bring to a gentle simmer.
