Method

Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Whisk the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Whisk the eggs with the white sugar, then mix in the apricot jam, vanilla extract, whole milk, and distilled white vinegar.

Fold in the dry ingredients and stir in the salted butter.

Pour into a greased 20 cm (8-inch) baking dish and bake until risen, set, and the center reaches 71°C (160°F).

Heat the heavy cream, white sugar, salted butter, and water until smooth and the sugar dissolves.
