    Mix the all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, white sugar, and salt. Add the water and knead until smooth.

    Cover and let the dough rise until doubled, then divide it into equal portions and shape them into smooth rounds.

    Heat the vegetable oil and cook the onion until soft. Add the garlic, curry powder, and turmeric powder.

    Add the ground beef and cook until browned and it reaches 71°C (160°F). Stir in the tomato paste and meat stock and cook until the filling is thick.

    Season the filling with the salt and black pepper and keep it warm.

    Heat the vegetable oil to 180°C (350°F). Fry the dough in batches, turning until deeply golden and cooked through.

    Drain well, split the vetkoek, and fill with the curried mince.
