- 900mlPork Stock
- 700mlWater
- 2pcsBay Leaf
- 20gPork Lard
- 140gOnion (finely chopped)
- 10gGarlic (crushed)
- 120gCarrot (finely diced)
- 80gCelery (finely diced)
- 250gSmoked Sausage (sliced)
- 3gDried Marjoram
- 10gSalt
- 2gBlack Pepper

Place the split peas, pork stock, water, and bay leaves in a pot and bring them to a boil.

Lower the heat and simmer gently until the peas begin to break down and soften well.

Heat the pork lard in a skillet and cook the onion until translucent.

Add the garlic, carrot, and celery and cook until the vegetables begin to soften.

Stir the cooked vegetables into the soup, then add the smoked sausage.

Continue simmering until the peas are very tender, the soup is thick, and the sausage has flavored the broth.
