- 350gCane Sugar
- 20mlLime Juice

Place the guava and the water in a pot and simmer until the fruit is very soft.

Mash the softened guava, then strain the pulp to remove seeds and coarse skins.

Return the pulp to the pot and stir in the cane sugar and lime juice.

Cook over medium to low heat, stirring often, until the mixture becomes very thick and pulls away from the sides of the pot.

Spread the paste into a lightly greased shallow dish and smooth the surface.

Let it cool completely until firm, then cut into small pieces to serve.
