KapanaNamibian Grilled Beef

5 steps
  1. 01

Preheat a grill, griddle, or cast-iron pan over very high heat to about 230°C (445°F); for food safety, whole-muscle beef should reach at least 63°C (145°F) and rest for 3 minutes.

  2. 02

Toss the beef rump steak with the vegetable oil, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. 03

Grill the beef in a single layer, turning often, until browned at the edges and just cooked through.

  4. 04

Combine the tomato and onion in a bowl and mix well.

  5. 05

Pile the grilled beef onto plates and serve with the relish, white bread, and hot sauce.
