Method
Follow each step in order. Ingredient names are highlighted as you go.

Heat a small spoonful of the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the onion until soft, then add the ground beef and cook until browned and at least 71°C (160°F).

Stir in the garlic, curry powder, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook until fragrant, then cool completely.

Divide the pastry sheets and filling into matching portions.

Place filling on each piece of pastry and fold into tightly sealed triangular parcels. Brush the edges with the beaten egg to help seal them.

Heat the rest of the vegetable oil in a deep pan to 180°C (350°F).

Fry in batches until crisp and deep golden.
