    Simmer the prunes in the water at 90°C (194°F) until very soft.

    Stir the white sugar, cinnamon powder, and lemon peel into the prune filling, then cook until thick and spreadable. Cool completely.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

    Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

    In a second bowl, cream the unsalted butter with the white sugar, then beat in the eggs.

    Add the dry mixture and the whole milk to make a soft dough.
