- 250gCowpeas Peas (rinsed)
- 2pcsWaakye Leaf (whole)
- 8gSalt
- 1.5lWater

Method
Follow each step in order. Ingredient names are highlighted as you go.

Place the cowpeas and waakye leaf in a pot with the water and bring to a boil at 100°C (212°F).

Reduce to a gentle simmer at about 95°C (203°F) and cook until the beans are almost tender.

Add the rinsed parboiled rice and salt, stir once, and cover the pot.

Continue simmering at about 95°C (203°F) until the parboiled rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.

Remove the waakye leaf, cover the pot again, and let the rice rest off the heat for 10 minutes.

Fluff gently and serve warm.
