    Top Round Beef (cut into bite-size pieces)

    Onion (sliced)
  • 15g
    Garlic (crushed)
  • 180g
    Red Bell Pepper (sliced)
  • 10g
    Red Chili (finely chopped)

    Berbere
  • 45ml
    Niter Kibbeh
  • 2g
    Black Pepper

    Pat the pieces of top round beef dry.

    Heat a heavy skillet over high heat to about 220°C (428°F).

    Add the niter kibbeh, then add the top round beef and sear until browned on the outside.

    Add the onion and cook until it begins to soften.

    Stir in the garlic, red bell pepper, and red chili and cook briefly until fragrant.

    Add the berbere, black pepper, and salt. Toss until the beef is evenly coated and the pieces reach at least 63°C (145°F), then remove the pan from the heat.

    Rest the beef for 3 minutes before serving.

    Serve immediately while still hot.
