Method

Mix the ground lamb, onion, black pepper, and a small pinch of the salt together, then shape the mixture into meatballs.

Bring the meat stock to a gentle simmer and add the chickpeas, turmeric powder, and the remaining salt.

Cook until the chickpeas are almost tender, then add the potato and continue simmering until the potato begins to soften.

Lower the heat and gently add the meatballs to the broth. Simmer until the meatballs are cooked through to 71°C (160°F) and the potato is tender.

Stir in the fresh parsley and fresh mint just before serving.
