- 500gPuff Pastry (thawed)
- 250gQuince Paste (cut into small pieces)
- 600mlVegetable Oil
- 30gPowdered Sugar
Syrup
- 200mlWater
- 150gWhite Sugar
- 20mlLemon Juice

Method

Cut the puff pastry into squares. Place a piece of quince paste in the center, cover with another square set at an angle, and press lightly in the middle so the corners stay open.

Heat the vegetable oil to 175°C (350°F) and fry the pastries until they are puffed and golden. Drain well.

Simmer the water, white sugar, and lemon juice until lightly syrupy.

Brush or dip the warm pastries with the syrup, then finish with the powdered sugar before serving.
